  You must be living under a rock or stupid to not see that is the hand of god in miraculous action! And given that stage didn't fold under 200lbs of extra weight load says nothing of the engineers, producer statements or construction design but speaks volumes on the miraculous hand of god.

  Life after the witnesses, friends, faith etc

  hi everyone, this is my first post so go easy on me :) i have been a witness all of my life (i'm 37) and truly believed it until 3 years ago.

  my husband and i had become spiritually weak and over time i began to question more and more until i came to the conclusion that the witnesses were not the true religion but just one of many religions and that if god is there then there are many paths to get to him.

  anyway, i've battled with keeping going as my husband still believed and i didn't want to be in a divided household as we have a young daughter and thought it would be very confusing for her (and us).

  I made many friends at university through my degree, found I was always interested and lifted by intellectual conversation. Not doom and gloom other than eating 2 minute noodles day in and out. We were all striving for a similar goal so it was a positively motivating experience. I never missed my witness friends, some of whom disowned me before I officially left. Your sincerity will be very noticeable to others like you. Weed em out, pick and choose.

  Geoffrey Jackson's Golden Apple watch INVESTIGATED

  i went through the original footage to get a good look at the watch.. from these pictures we can probably say that it is a apple watch and that it has a golden color.

  the color on the pin is black, and the band is white, grey, silvery or beige.. .

  the pin is in the exact place for it to be a apple watch.. only apple watch edition have the gold color.

  Another one decides to leave

  well in a month where i had a friend of 20 years tell me "we can't kick it no mo" because i no longer go to meetings, i had an even older friend who is coming to visit me, call me and tell me hes out.. currently a high profile ms who gives talks out all over the place, the elders said they are recommending him for appt to the body in sep when the co is coming through.

  but nope......hes about to step down all together.. what did it?

  because i am not disfellowshipped, and soft peddle my issues with the org, i was able to speak to him about things like blood, and a couple other things.

  Agree with the potential backfire - in that children become uberdubs and shun their awake parents. Those parents should recognise themselves as the ones who have successfully instilled good morals into their children - you don't need a religious upbringing for that. I suspect that they will quickly come to this realization though, given the speed of their enlightenment to date. Thanks for sharing this experience!

  i have just finished reading 'brock talon's' two books.

  in one of them, entitled journey to god's house, pub.

  he comments on how the wt's pictures of the post-armageddon world do not agree with their doctrines, namely that those who are physically resurrected will not marry/have children.

  I always found it odd that a JW could remarry after their spouse died. I recall asking how would Mrs X feel to find her husband happily remarried and no marriage prospects - wouldn't that be hell for her? I was told that Jehovah was a loving God and would take care of the desires of every living thing, perhaps even wiping her memory. I couldn't ever understand that.

  I now hate being called 'sister'

  since waking up i find i am bridling at being called 'sister'.

  but it feels like an identity that is being forced on me.. i feel like shouting "i have a name you know!".

  it is just me or does anyone else recognise this?.

  I recall my daughter asking if she had to refer to my dad as "Brother Grandad" lol lol lol and I recall feeling odd about explaining that to a 5 yr old as it sounded incestuous dumbed down.

  How interesting that the CO recognises that depression and worldly pressures are contributing factors in the poor state of the congregations atm....

  It is obvious to ex JWs and faders that the path of least resistance is to cite depression or anxiety as a hassle free demotion mechanism. Who is really going to challenge you about that under the banner of love?

  Fascinating prospect: I wonder how many "spiritually weak" are actually "awake"? I wonder how many people in your circuit are pondering the same questions that you are at this time and you just don't know it? How many are "crippled with fictitious anxiety" and it is unnoticed by the blinded COs who brand it a sign of the times?

  I Made the Literature Trolley Run Away Today - Twice

  i popped into town this morning to buy an anniversary card for mrs cofty.

  it is market day on a saturday and it's tourist season so the town was very busy.

  here is a picture of the scene from a year ago... two cult carts were in their favourite place being guarded by none other than one of the elders who was on my judicial committee, his wife and another jw woman in her electric disability buggy.

  Isn't there a little brown book Reasoning with the Scriptures that has an entire section on how to rebuff conversation stoppers such as "I am not interested"?

  I would delight in reading how you may have used any of these conversation stoppers and how Brian would have responded.

  It is a good 15 years but I seem to recall "are you not interested in the God's Word the bible... not interested in JWs?" Etc etc. Would be great to use a conversation stopper on the trolley people just to see if they recognise what you are using on them. Oh the irony!!!
